Her song was well prepared but it was her first time in a professional studio, so Mal guided her through the process and the results have been incredible. My time at GreenSound Studio has been an amazing experience and one that has helped me greatly with my knowledge of music production. When I first came to the studio, my brother and I had an acoustic song with a simple riff and we were completely unaware of how the final version would sound. The finished result soared far beyond my expectations and I have been listening to it non-stop ever since. Once Mal got to know the song he helped us devise new melodic parts and dynamic changes/ buildups that helped turn a good song into a great song. He composed an awesome drum part with gave the song definition and character.
The quality is completely professional and Mal is great to work with as he really listens to your input as well as giving his own advice. While the editing and mixing took place in between recording I was quietly observing the software and effects that they used and learnt a lot. Overall this experience has helped me immensely and I am ecstatic about the final result and my song sounds far better that I could ever have imagined it would.

i have recorded on three separate projects at the studio, and it has always been a great experience. Mal is very professional, but at the same time very easy going and great to work with. He is fantastic at what he does, and never fails to impress me with the quality of the finished songs. I know i will be recording there again in the near future.

Envy Green
In January 2008 Envy Green entered GreenSound Studio for the first time.
In seven hours, we managed to record all tracks and overdubs, including drums, guitar/bass, vocals and harmonies. This was achievable because of the efficiency of the V-Drum kit.
The V-Drums saved us at least a day in recording time ie: No loading,no re-heading, no tuning heads, minimal time to set up a sound. We achieved a great drum sound straight away. Our drummer, Neil Marr, commented that they almost feel like an acoustic kit to play.
The whole session was very comfortable and relaxed.
Mal Green's experiences as a player and studio producer/operator is a definite bonus, having recorded
with some of the best himself. The studio runs on cubase and Mal knows his way around it. The monitoring works well and the headphone system is excellent, essential!! for pleasurable recording.
On behalf of Envy Green, I have great pleasure in recommending GreenSound Studio as a viable alternative to other high-end studios. You will enjoy excellent sound and appreciate the great value

Mal’s studio is very professional. The sound, especially the control room is great - very open sound. The equipment is excellent - right up there. The studio has great convertors, good microphones, and good sounding rooms
Production
Over the years that I have known Mal, he has been very consistent in terms of good tonal balance. He achieves good frequency balance between instruments. All the mixes that Mal has done and that I have heard have been very well-proportioned. They are always very good sonically.
Mal has great ears and is a very good studio operator. Overall, GreenSound is a great studio in a great environment.
I really like Mal’s approach to ambient music as it always paints a picture for me. Mal is a great drummer with good musical sensibility and good timing.

Redundant Technology
We met Malcolm Green through his long friendship with our bass player, Howard; a relationship which made our first sessions an easy introduction.
Malcolm wears many hats; engineer, producer, musician and critic. The GreenSound Studio, with its spectacular views, is well equipped. Running Cubase 4.5 on Quad-core Mac Pro, with all outboard gear, routed through a Soundcraft series 6000 analogue desk; the piece-de-resistance being the latest Roland V drums allowing quick setup times and dozens of kits to choose from.
Over the course of recording “Peace of Mind” the band struck up a very productive rapport with Malcolm. His easy going and friendly manner encouraged everyone to share in the creative process. His background in the music industry means he possesses a wealth of ideas and experience and we find ourselves keen to return for future recording projects.

I found recording in Mal Green's studio to be a very enjoyable experience. The studio was well equipped with professional recording equipment to cater for all that I wanted to do. The process was made easy with the help of Mal's musical experience and was able to assist or give advice where needed. The atmosphere of the studio is very welcoming and a comfortable way to lay down a few tunes. Having the use of the Roland V-Drums is a real time saver and can be a great alternative to setting up dozens of mic's on an acoustic drum kit. I am delighted for the opportunity to provide a testimonial for Mal Green. Earlier this year I was looking for a recording studio where I would be able to record my speaking CD and was fortunate to be pointed In the direction of Mal. The process of this recording has been a real joy, naturally, it has taken some days to record and edit the material that I have prepared For a Laughter and Humour double CD.
Mal is an easy to get on with engineer, he has infinite patience whilst Dealing with changes and ideas that I made along the way. at the end of every session, I was presented with a CD of the material we had done that day so that I would be able to evaluate what I have achieved to date, an enormous help towards creating the kind of CD I have been aiming for. The quality of the recording is also excellent. Having a large number of esoteric speaking CDs, I am most conscious that some of these are of poor quality and fluctuate in levels. what Mal has produced is far superior to this. Its such a pleasure to be able to create a piece of work of which I feel very passionate about with the kind of integrity and fun that Mal Greens providing. Apart from that, the environment is a lovely one.

I made a recording of my EP on the 30th and 31st of January 2010 at Green Sound Music.
I was met by friendly, efficient staff who assisted beyond their requirements, sharing knowledge experience and techniques all aimed at creating a better sound.
The studio itself is a clean, uncluttered and functional studio with high end equipment able to be used easily in all of the studio's recording spaces.
I recorded vocals, acoustic guitar and percussion with ease to my heart's creative content due to the use of the v-drum kit, MIDI keyboards and other acoustic instruments. My creative needs were often met with a “we can make that work" attitude. I recorded my acoustic guitar unplugged, solely through a high-end ribbon microphone which made my guitar sound warmer and more full of life than it ever has.
I would recommend green sound music to recording artists of any genre looking for "that special kind of sound" in a solid and functional environment without sacrificing comfort, and without dampening creative ideas
